- In 2022, AMD 613 bn or about 27% of the budget expenses were allocated to the payment of pensions and allowances, in other words, AMD 273 from every AMD 1000 spent from the state budget was allocated to the payment of pensions and allowances.
- In addition, pension spending amounted to AMD 411 bn, 9% more than last year, while spendings on allowances decreased by 17%, amounting to AMD 202 bn.
- The increase in pension spending compared to the previous year was mainly due to the increase in allocations made to the accounts of the participants of the funded pension system, which in turn was due to the increase in the number of participants.
