- In 2022, AMD 91.3 billion was allocated from the state budget to regions for various programs, 7% more than in 2021 and 1% more than the government’s initial plan.
- The support from the state budget was mainly provided to regions in the form of dotation (AMD 64.3 billion or 70.4% of total support). The dotations are provided free of charge and are not targeted which means that regions have the right to use these financial resources at their discretion.
- Yerevan accounted for 21% or AMD 13.4 billion of total dotations provided to regions from state budget, followed by Shirak (AMD 6.5 billion), Gegharkunik (AMD 6.4 billion), Lori (AMD 6.3 billion) and Kotayk (AMD 6.2 billion), with 10% shares each.
