- In 2022, state budget revenues amounted to about AMD 2.1 trillion, 23% more than the previous year and 6% more than the government’s initial plan.
- State budget expenditures exceeded revenues by AMD 180 billion and amounted to AMD 2.2 trillion. In other words, AMD 80 out of every AMD 1000 spent from the budget is borrowed.
- 83% of the state budget expenditures were allocated to recurrent expenses which include the payment of pensions and social benefits, public debt interest payments, salaries of public sector employees, etc.
- 17% of the state budget expenditures were allocated to capital expenses which include the construction and reconstruction of schools, hospitals, roads, the purchase of machinery and equipment, etc.
